JACKSON, Miss. – A former Mendenhall city police chief has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for conspiracy to commit extortion, bribery and theft.
Bruce Barlow will also spend three years on post release supervision and pay restitution in an amount to be determined during a hearing later this summer.
Barlow admitted that while serving as Mendenhall’s Chief of Police, he stole money and property and allowed others to unlawfully take property seized by officers from people who were either arrested or detained.
