A Carthage man has been caught trafficking drugs for a second time.

According to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, agents arrested James Antwan Moore and charged him with aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and ecstasy.

Moore was arrested after agents found nearly two pounds of meth and 160 dosages units of ecstasy at his home on Pine Hill Circle.

MBN Director John Dowdy stated that the drugs have a combined estimated street value of $60,000.

Moore is already serving a sentence in a drug case under drug court supervision, and he’ll now face additional charges, but Dowdy said that more arrests may be on the way after a lengthy investigation.

“Mr. Moore’s arrest follows an investigation of about a year. It is ongoing and we expect to make additional arrests,” Dowdy said.

The Leake County Sheriff’s Office, the Carthage & Philadelphia Police Departments and the 5th Judicial Drug Court assisted the MBN in the investigation.
