JACKSON, Miss.–It was a fall and a resulting head injury that has left state Sen. Videt Carmichael (R-Clarkdale) in the hospital. The fall came just as lawmakers were debating bills in the final days of the state’s legislative session for 2014.
WTOK TV reported Carmichael was in intensive care.
Carmichael’s son told the TV station that Carmichael collapsed at his Jackson apartment and was taken to the hospital where it was determined there was internal bleeding. That had subsided as of Wednesday morning, but Carmichael was still on a ventilator.
