All aboard! Christmas is rapidly approaching, and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway will bring its holiday train to Mississippi to spread seasonal cheer.
CPKC uses its holiday train tours to raise money, food, and awareness for the work that food banks do in their communities. Professional musicians play free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage. The rail company donates to the local food shelf at each stop and encourages attendees to also give to those in need.
The train’s route will include the following Mississippi stops:
- Jackson — Saturday, November 30 from 4 to 8 p.m. — CPKC Yard, 201 Industrial Park Drive
- Meridian — Sunday, December 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. — Union Station, 1901 Front Street
- Vicksburg — Monday, December 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. — Levee Station, 1000 Levee Street at Grove Street
Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $22.5 million and donated more than five million pounds of food to community food banks across North America.
