CALEDONIA, Miss.–Caledonia may be the only place in Mississippi where you can race your riding mower for a prize this weekend. The event is called Caledonia Days and it’s a hometown festival set for Friday and Saturday.
“It’s just pretty awesome that we can showcase the biggest small town in the State of Mississippi,” said Alderman Mitch Wiggins.
The “biggest small town” will have live music downtown Friday evening, featuring Tate Stevens and The Magnolia Ramblers. Saturday it’s the mower races and a classic car show and plenty food vendors.
“It’s just the fact that everybody comes out and gets together and you see people you hadn’t seen since the previous year,” said Wiggins. “It’s all about being at home and being around good home folks.”
Caledonia is on Hwy. 12 north of 82 and east of Columbus.
