WASHINGTON, D.C. – Putting calorie labels on fast food menus.
six years ago it became law that if you have a restaurant or grocery store with more than 20 locations, you’d be required to put the number of calories per item, on the menu.
So you’re noticing it right? Not necessarily, some restaurants have started doing it, but others haven’t. The FDA keeps delaying enforcement and just recently voted to delay it another year.
Grocery stores argue that the rules would be more of a pain for them than restaurants, and for that reason they say the law isn’t fare.
States like Vermont and New York have already made it mandatory.
