JACKSON, Miss.–If you want to sell over the telephone in Mississippi, you’d better register with the state’s Public Service Commission first. That’s the lesson American Helping Hands is learning after being slapped with a $5,000 fine this week.
The PSC got complaints about the company making unauthorized telephone sales calls. That’s when it was discovered they also did not register.
The settlement was reached and was paid this week. The money will be used to help enforce the No Call list.
If you want to avoid telephone sales calls, you can get on the list by calling 1-800-356-6428, or go to the PSC website at www.psc.state.ms.us/nocall.
