OXFORD, Miss.- Calhoun county supervisor faces federal charges that he was seeking bribes from timber haulers.
WCBI reports that Earnest M. Fox of Bruce was arrested by the FBI and charged with two counts of interference with commerce by extortion.
He could face up to 40 years behind bars in a federal prison and possibly have to pay upwards of $500,000 in fines.
The specific indictment alleges that he demanded a contribution to a campaign if the hauler would like to continue to move logs and leave mud on country roads. In a second situation he demanded additional payments for himself.
