JACKSON, Miss.–The state’s most outstanding college football player for 2014 is Mississippi State Quarter Back Dak Prescott. Tuesday night he was named the recipient of this year’s C-Spire Conerly Trophy, which is handed out at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame to a candidate who is considered the best.
Prescott was chosen from a list of three other finalists, including Ole Miss cornerback Senquez Golson, Delta State quarterback Tyler Sullivan and Alcorn State quarterback John Gibbs Jr.
“We were never satisfied,” he said about this season at State. “It was a great season. We never quit. We fought and we came away with a good record.”
Prescott threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 24 touchdowns and helped bring State to their first 10-win season in the school’s history.
