JACKSON, MISS– Singer Bryan Adams has canceled his Mississippi performance scheduled for this week, citing the passing of House Bill 1523, the Religious Liberties Accommodation Act.
Adams says in a statement that he cannot, in good conscience, go on with the show when “certain people are being denied their civil rights due to their sexual orientation.”
The show was scheduled for this Thursday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
Other celebrities such as Montel Williams, Ellen DeGeneres and Pass Christian native Robin Roberts have spoken against the law that takes effect in Mississippi on July 1st.
