Mississippi’s own Addie Carver has been crowned this year’s Miss Teen USA.
The 17-year-old Brookhaven native and Lawrence County High School student was announced the winner in Los Angeles, Calif. on Thursday after competing against the top 10 contestants in the nation. She became just the second Mississippian since 1987 to earn the honor.
“The new Miss Teen USA is from right here in Mississippi,” Governor Tate Reeves exclaimed. “Congratulations to Addie Carver on earning this new title! I have no doubt she will continue representing our state well during her reign!”

Carver has been training in multiple styles of dance at Showstoppers Studio of Dance in Brookhaven for 14 years. She is also a student staff teacher, working with students ages 3-16. Her love for dance sparked her passion to create her own non-profit called Dance to Empower.
After losing her dad at the age of 13, dance was her safe space and she cannot wait to share her story with the people of Mississippi. She hopes to inspire others to find their passions to help them cope with all of life’s challenges. Carver is committed to growing her organization while impacting the lives of others.
Outside of dance, the new Miss Teen USA is a varsity cheerleader at Lawrence County High School where she has been chosen as an All-American and invited to be a member of the Universal Cheerleaders Association summer camp staff. Carver also serves as the vice president of her Beta Club Chapter.
