BROOKHAVEN, Miss.- A Brookhaven man is spending Christmas behind bars for a murder charge.
YaQuilla Washington, 27, has been charged in the shooting death of Demetrius Wilson, 26.
Police told WLBT the shooting happened on Wednesday when Washington and his girlfriend stopped by Cloverdale housing complex to drop off some Christmas presents.
Police said they believe he may have shot the victim because the suspect didn’t like the way Wilson looked at him.
Police are investigating the incident.
