State Representative Jay Hughes (D, District 12) announced on The Gallo Radio Show Thursday morning that he’s running for Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi.
He talked about the need for better education, mental health care and fixing the failing roads and bridges in the state of Mississippi. Hughes also said that while he’s a Democrat, he’s a registered gun owner and “fiscal conservative”.
Hughes is an Army veteran and says he doesn’t get his values and beliefs from a “national political party.”
