RIO–The United States team of Tianna Bartoletta, Allyson Felix, English Gardner and Tori Bowie won the women’s 4×100 relay Friday evening at Rio’s Olympic Stadium.
The quartet got the baton around the track in a time of 41.01 seconds, 0.35 seconds faster than the silver medal winners from Jamaica, who crossed the line in 41.36 seconds. Great Britain won the bronze medal with a national record time of 41.77 seconds.
This is the third medal for Southern Miss alum and Sandhill native Bowie. She won silver in the 100m, bronze in the 200m, and the 4x100m victory makes her first gold medal.
