Last week, the Neshoba County Fair Association announced that the 2020 version of ‘Mississippi’s Giant Houseparty’ has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Representative Scott Bounds, who is on the fair board in his free time away from the capitol, joined today’s episode of The Gallo Show to make a few clarifications on the cancellation of the fair.
“It was a tough decision for those of us on the board,” Bounds explained. “There was just no safe way in the current state of the pandemic that we could have the fair.”

The virus that has not only infested over 18,480 Mississippians but has now forced the annual event to be cancelled for the first time since World War II.
Regarding the idea of having the fair in the fall, Bounds explained that the idea is not even close to the ballpark.
“With school starting and things like that, we felt like it was in the best decision to not have it,” he said. “We just felt like it was best to shut it down totally.”
