Bok Homa Casino has started construction on a new restaurant and lounge after officials broke ground at the Sandersville location last week.
On Thursday, Tribal Chief and Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise Chairman Cyrus Ben joined Tribal Council members and 2022-2023 Choctaw Indian Princess Cadence Raine Nickey for the groundbreaking ceremony.
“We are grateful not only for [the] groundbreaking to expand this, but we will continue to put forth efforts to making sure that we grow Pearl Resort and all its properties for the well-being of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians because it is for our people,” Ben stated. “We are thankful for that and this Pine Belt community for always supporting Bok Homa Casino and we continue to look forward to this expansion and many great days.”
The 7,000-square-foot expansion is set to include a new restaurant called “Red Creek” that is expected to seat up to 60 individuals. Additionally, the casino will be adding a sportsbook lounge to the facility, which will be separate from the gaming floor.
Construction on the casino’s new additions began following the groundbreaking ceremony and is anticipated to be complete by Bok Homa Casino’s 13th anniversary on December 20.
