A body was found in a burned vehicle on Saturday evening off of Isaac Road in Amite County.
William Sharp, Amite County Coroner confirmed that the body had been sent to the state crime lab where an autopsy would be done.
Officials believe they know the identity of the individual, but no details will be released until the autopsy is complete, including the exact cause of death.
Coroner Sharp said they hope to have the results of the autopsy by the end of Monday.
