JACKSON, Miss. – The man at the center of the Cochran photo scandal has filed a request to postpone his trial that’s scheduled to start in less than two weeks.
Clayton Kelly is accused of breaking into Rose Cochran’s nursing home room last year and taking a picture of her.
Mrs. Cochran was the wife of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran. Kelly’s family had said the political blogger was encouraged by supporters of Cochran’s then opponent, Chris McDaniel, to take pictures of Mrs. Cochran. The images were to be used to prove allegations her husband was having an inappropriate relationship with a long-time office employee.
A judge will hear Kelly’s motion to continue his trial this Monday.
