The city of Biloxi has approved a plan to close six railroad crossing across town.
They planned to close a half-dozen of it’s 29 railroad crossings before the CSX freight train hit a tour bus. That accident on March 7 resulted in the deaths of four people, dozens more were injured.
The crash focused even more attention on the cities 29 crossings.
Biloxi Mayor Andrew Gilich said 29 is “too many crossings for Biloxi.”
The National Transportation Safety Board plans to release a preliminary report on the crash on March 7 within the next few weeks.
