This past Friday, the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) attendance record was broken in Biloxi.
The FPHL, which is looking at possibly expanding into Mississippi, has been using the Mississippi Coast Coliseum as a neutral site location during the month of December.
The final attendance on Friday was 7,288, shattering the previous FPHL attendance record of 5,027.
The last neutral site game at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum will be played on December 30. Tickets can be purchased online or at the coliseum box office.
Biloxi has not had a professional hockey team since the Mississippi Surge disassembled in 2014. Prior to that, the Biloxi Sea Wolves played in the coliseum from 1996-2009. During their time on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Sea Wolves made the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) playoffs eight times, winning one championship.
