BILOXI, Miss.- The new Biloxi baseball stadium currently under construction has already faced a handful of problems, but now things are looking up.
The ball park cut out some seating plans to save money, but later realized Minor League Baseball requires a minimum of 6,000 seats so they had to find a way to budget it back in.
Tuesday, by a vote of 4-3, the Biloxi City Council approved to spend $418,000 for the additional 2,000 seats they were required to have.
Tim Bennett, one of the team owners told The Sun Herald without those extra seats the city would be losing almost $300,000 a year in revenue.
Bennett said 5,000 of the seats in the stadium are chair-back seats and the remaining 1,000 are in picnic areas, suites, party decks and on the berm.
