BILOXI, Miss. — Swimming in sewage is pretty gross, and it is definitely not healthy for you. That is why the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has closed down part of the beach in Biloxi. There is sewage overflow at Brady Drive, and the section of beach closed stretches from Beauvoir Road to the east end of Sadler Beach Drive.
As part of the Beach Closure, MDEQ is advising people not to enter the water or eat any seafood caught near the shore waters until further notice. MDEQ will continue to monitor the water and lift the closer when the bacteria levels are safe.
