TUPELO, Miss.–Get ready for some big weather changes for the northern two thirds of Mississippi by the end of the week. It’s gonna get cold again and there could even be a shot of snow or freezing rain Friday and Saturday north.
Look for fog to start out your Wednesday, and then the warmest day of the week. The high will reach the mid 70s north and upper 70s central and south. Rain moves in overnight and sticks around Thursday.
Rain will actually stick around through the entire weekend, but the temperature difference may be a shock.
By Friday, north, temps will drop into the low 40s, around 50 central and still in the 70s south.
As the front pushes through, there could be a wintry mix Friday night in the northern counties and there’s a slight chance for freezing rain Saturday, north only, with a high not making it out of the upper 30s.
Central will be a bit warmer, with no predictions of any wintry weather.
South will stay mauch warmer. The coldest day will be Saturday, with a high near 50.
