After a week filled with interviews, performances, and social events, this year’s title of Miss Mississippi has been awarded to Purvis native Becky Williams.
Williams, formerly Miss Capital City, received the crown and title on Saturday night following a high-ranking score from the judges during the preliminary rounds of the competition. She won several of the events, including in the talent category on Thursday and in the evening wear category on Friday.

Now, Williams will represent the Magnolia State in next year’s Miss America competition in hopes of bringing the national title back to Mississippi for the fifth time in history. Miss America is scheduled for January 2025.
As for the other 38 contestants, numerous scholarships were distributed to the four alternates and seven semi-finalists. Rounding out the top five for Miss Mississippi 2024 were:
- Miss University Jane Granberry (runner-up)
- Miss Mississippi State University Morgan Nelson (second runner-up)
- Miss Heart of the South Sarah Randolph (third runner-up)
- Miss Rankin County Anna Leah Jolly (fourth runner-up)
