COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. – It’s been a tragic week for one Mississippi family after 9-year-old Isaac Tervino was shot and killed this week after an apparent accident. One of his cousins found a gun and fired it while they were at a relative’s house. Adults at the home were in another room. Tervino was airlifted to UMMC from Vicksburg where died Wednesday.
Do not let his happen to your family, make sure you always keep guns properly stored.
“All firearms should be stored in a gun safe, or at very least a trigger lock should be installed on the firearm that the manufacturer provides. If you are not in immediate control of your firearm, if you carry it for self defense they must be stored out of reach of children,” said Cliff Cargill, National Rifle Association firearms instructor.
