Officials in George County are investigating after human remains were discovered over the weekend.
According to Sheriff Mitchell Mixon, the remains were found in a wooded area in the Basin Community on Saturday.
County Coroner Deeann Murrah is working alongside law enforcement to identify the deceased individual. No further details have been made available at this time.
