Update: Two teenagers are now in custody for the Sunday afternoon shooting at a park in the St. Andrews community that has left an unidentified teenage victim in critical condition.
14-year-old Barack Isaiah Robinson of Ocean Springs is charged as an adult with aggravated assault. He is accused of shooting the victim twice.
Robinson is being held without bond at the Jackson County Detention Center.
A second suspect has also been arrested for his role in the incident. The 17-year-old, whose name is not being released by authorities, is charged with accessory after the fact through youth court.
A 16-year-old was questioned by officers, but was later released.
The shooting remains under investigation. More charges are possible.
A Mississippi Gulf Coast teenager has been hospitalized after being shot multiple times at a local park.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reports that the unidentified 15-year-old was transported to a medical facility after he was struck by gunfire late Sunday afternoon at a park in the St. Andrews community.
According to Sheriff John Ledbetter, deputies responded to the scene around 4:00 p.m. and found the teen shot twice.
Investigators are searching for a 14-year-old male suspected to be responsible for injuring the victim. Ledbetter says the suspect got into a black or dark gray Chevy SUV driven by a 16-year-old.
