One month after a dead body was found in Ridgeland at the Little Dixie Landfill in late March, the deceased has been identified.
Madison County Coroner’s Office officials say 54-year-old Howard Earl Banks, Jr. was the body discovered at the landfill on March 24.
An employee discovered Banks’ body and immediately contacted the Ridgeland Police Department. An investigation, along with analysis by the State Medical Examiner’s Office, led authorities to believe that Banks died of complications of a medical condition.
No foul play is suspected in Banks’ death, though the investigation is ongoing.
