Officials with the Harrison County School District announced Monday that an 18-year-old was arrested for threatening violence at D’Iberville High School.
Biloxi native Robert Murray was taken into custody Sunday and charged with one felony count of making terroristic threats. Harrison County Sheriff’s Department authorities said Murray made a post on Snapchat threatening to “shoot up the school.”
Murray, who is not a current student at the school, was arrested in Biloxi after an investigation into the comments.
“The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community is always our top priority, and we have worked closely with local law enforcement agencies to address the situation swiftly,” Superintendent William Bentz said in a Facebook post from the district. “We also appreciate the vigilance of our students, staff, and community members who reported their concerns.”
Murray was given a $50,000 bond after being booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility.
