JACKSON, Miss. – Attorney General Jim Hood says the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) allows cell phone carriers to offer call-blocking and that providers, such as AT&T and Verizon, should do so.
Previously carriers had said that legal barriers prevented them from offering such a service.
Hood says, the FCC has now made it clear that phone carriers can assist in the fight against unwanted and annoying calls.
The Mississippi Attorney General joined 44 other attorneys general asking the five major cell phone carriers to offer call-blocking to its customers.
