VICKSBURG, Miss.–A 72-year-old woman who is active in her local church and who is well-liked by friends and neighbors, was raped Saturday morning when two men forced their way into her home in Vicksburg. Now police say those two men have been arrested.
When they alerted media to the arrests, they were not yet ready to give names, but said they would hold a press conference Tuesday morning to give more info.
The assault happened early Saturday morning when the woman heard the men, described a two black males, busting into her house. Police said the guys wrecked the place looking for money.
After that came the assault, and then the men left.
The victim went to a neighbor’s house, who called 911. She is still in the hospital and police said they are still investigating.
