Arrests have been made after threats against several schools in North Mississippi circulated on social media last night.
In a post shared to the Pontotoc High School Facebook page, a message warned of shootings at schools in Oxford and Pontotoc.
According to the Oxford School District, two juveniles were identified and arrested in connection with the threats after an investigation by the Oxford Police Department and lead school resource officer, Donovan Lyons.
“Please take time to thank our SRO’s and other police officers for the work that they do to keep our students and staff safe,” the OSD said.
The suspect’s names have not been released, and according to the OSD, neither of them are students in the district.
