A man is behind bars after reportedly striking a Greene County deputy’s vehicle during a pursuit.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, deputies with Greene County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a pursuit when one deputy was struck by the unidentified subject’s vehicle. The deputy received non-life-threatening injuries from the accident.
The pursuit ended as the subject’s vehicle veered off the road and came to a stop. The subject then exited the vehicle with a weapon, forcing deputies to discharge their firearms and prompting the individual to surrender.
The MBI is continuing to assess the incident. All findings will be brought to the proper legal authorities.
