RAYMOND, Miss.–There’s been another attack on a Mississippi child by a pit bull dog. WLBT TV reported it happened Wednesday in Raymond and that the victim was a 16-month-old boy.
That child was taken to the ER at UMMC, where he got at least seven stitches after the dog bit the left side of his head.
There was no word on what will happen to the dog.
Some law enforcement, like Holmes County Sheriff Willie March, have been warning the public that they believe pit bulls have no place in a home with children. March even believes they should be banned in the state.
If you’ve been following the story about Victoria Wilcher, the girl with injuries to her face that was allegedly thrown out of a KFC, it was a pack of pit bulls that caused those injuries earler this year.
March began protesting ownership of the dogs after a child died in Thornton, in southern Holmes County.
