JACKSON, Miss.–A Miss. Bureau of Narcotics agent who was grazed by a bullet the morning of Dec. 3 while serving a warrant in the capital city was likely shot by another officer on accident, according to the MBI.
The agent was grazed on the stomach and was later released from the hospital.
The MBN had been working with U.S. marshals, trying to serve several men with a murder warrant. They were looking for Lucious Perkins, who was arrested later.
Wednesday, MBI Spokesman Warren Strain said the preliminary investigation showed it was likely another officer who shot the agent, although he did not go into the exact circumstances.
Strain said the investigation is on-going.
