JACKSON, Miss.–Just days after Sen. Thad Cochran accepted the nomination from Republicans at the Neshoba County Fair to run for U.S. Senate against Democrat Travis Childers, his Tea Party opponent, state Sen. Chris McDaniel said he has a major announcement coming.
Sources have said McDaniel will challenge the results of the June 24 run-off election.
The announcement was set fot 2:30 at his lawyer’s office. That’s Mitch Tyner.
It was not clear exactly what fuel McDaniel might use in his challenge after the state Supreme Court denied his request to use voter info, like birth dates or social security numbers, to prove that there were illegal crossover votes.
