JACKSON, Miss. – Your child’s college tuition could be paid for by the State of Mississippi.
House members passed a bill Tuesday that would allow the state to cover community college tuition expenses for recent high school graduates who do not qualify for other forms of financial aid. The bill would set up a two-year pilot program at each of the state’s 15 community colleges. Similar plans are already in place in 20 of Mississippi’s 82 counties; but they are offered by private donors and local governments.
The House Bill now moves to the Senate.
