Amber Alert Over: Son Safe, Father Arrested, Mother Dead

LEXINGTON, Miss. – Monday morning’s amber alert is over. The 6-year-old Sirvontez Adams was found safe; his mother was found shot to death. The father, Terrell Adams turned himself in. He is now being held behind bars.

According to Holmes County Sheriff Willie March, Coretta Andrews was kidnapped by Terrell Adams from a Dollar General in Lexington. Deputies later located Andrew’s car with OnStar after getting a call from her family. Using OnStar, they shut the car off. That car was found on a dirt road with Andrew’s inside, shot to death. At that scene the father and son were nowhere to be found.

Monday morning Terrell Adams called the sheriff’s department and told them to pick him up. He was about a fourth a mile from where they had found the car. Right now he is behind bars. Sheriff March says he could have a court date as early as next week and expects a capital murder charge.

March said the two had been in a domestic dispute before, and Terrell Adams had assaulted two other women in the past.
