A video has surfaced of an alleged murderer bragging about the killings from jail.
Jordan Kyle Cummins, 27, of Florence, was just blocks away from the annual Hal’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Jackson Saturday when he reportedly shot and killed two individuals: Joshua Spann, 27, and Jubilee Simpkins, 23.
“Free me, man. You walk up on me, and I’m going to bust your [expletive],” Cummins is heard saying in the video. “It’s real, man. I know it looks sweet, but [expletive] ain’t sweet, man. Two dead.”
WARNING: The video does contain strong language. Viewer discretion is advised.
Cummins reportedly killed Spann and Simpkins after they stepped in to intervene during an ongoing domestic dispute. The incident took place on Jefferson Street in front of the Mississippi Fairgrounds.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, in a statement, called the video “very disturbing,” and upon searching the jail, found two cell phones. More charges against Cummins are expected to come.
UPDATE: During his initial court appearance Monday, Cummins claimed self-defense but was denied bond and ruled a flight risk. He’s facing two counts of murder.
