Severe weather is making its way into the Magnolia State and is expected to hit Sunday.
Dan Byrd is with the National Weather Service and said that the entire state needs to be on alert.
“The storm is going to move through pretty much the entire state of Mississippi starting late Sunday morning,” said Byrd.
He said there will be the potential for damaging wind gusts, hail and tornadoes. Byrd also mentioned that flooding is to be expected.
“The other threat will be heavy rain and flooding. We are advertising the potential for 2 to 3 inches [of rain] with higher amounts possible as this storm moves in on Sunday,” said Byrd.
