JACKSON, Miss. — There were at least three people killed in traffic accidents on state roads over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.
The deaths took place after crashes in Marshall and Chickasaw Counties. In addition to the fatalities, 56 others were injured. And thousands of drivers also now have fines to pay. The Mississippi Highway Patrol wrote 5,823 tickets statewide and worked 197 accidents between Wednesday November 26 and midnight Sunday. Of the traffic citations, 119 were for seat-belt violations, 32 for child restraint violations and 150 for DUI.
