Flood warnings are in effect for much of Mississippi as downpours are expected to continue, maxing the capacity for the state’s rivers, streams, creeks, ponds and ditches.
The National Weather Service is expecting rain to linger through the week.

If a road is flooded, remember the saying “turn around, don’t drown.” Flooding over roads can be unexpectedly strong, leading to crash, injury, and or death if you’re swept up in the current.
