MIAMI, Fla.–Hurricane Fred was churning in the Atlantic Monday morning, as a category one, with winds sustained at 80 mph. It was moving in the general direction of the US mainland. News Mississippi watches any storm that has the potential to enter the Gulf and affect Mississippi.
Fred’s position was too far out Monday morning to predict exactly where it was expected to go and eventually make landfall.
However, some meteorologists predicted Fred would not affect the US.
