The Tennessee Titans selected A.J. Brown with 51st overall pick in the NFL draft.
Brown is Ole Miss’ all-time leading receiver with 2,984 yards, 12 career 100-yard games and is fifth in career receiving touchdowns with 19. Brown was projected by some as a first round draft pick, but slid into the second round along with teammate D.K. Metcalf.
A native of Starkville, Brown was a two-sport standout in high school and was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.
Brown began his career as an outside receiver, but transition to the slot as a sophomore. He moved back to outside receiver sporadically as a junior after an injury to Metcalf six games into the 2018 season. Brown’s ability to play both the slot and outside makes him an intriguing fir for the Titans, who selected former Central Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 draft. Brown will provide Marcus Mariota another weapon.
The Titans selected Mississippi State defensive end Jeffery Simmons with their first round pick at 19th overall.
