OXFORD, Miss. — This weekend is the 19th Annual Double Decker Arts Fest in Oxford. The event is free and if you’ve been before, you know it’s a good time.
The fest kicks off Friday on the Square at 6 p.m. with bands Rosco Bandana and the Bo-Keys along with a live a broadcast of Thacker Mountain Radio which airs on Mississippi Public Radio.
Saturday is an all day affair. Nearly 200 art and food vendors will be lined up. The music starts at 10 p.m., starting off with local bands like Garry Burnside and Dent May. Several out of town bands will get you moving throughout the evening, wrapping up the night with Charles Bradely.
Also, you cannot bring coolers to the event, but the bars will be open.
About 50,000 people are expected on the Square this year so parking could be a problem. There is supposed to be a lot of parking near the Old Taylor exit on Ole Miss’s campus and there will be a shuttle service running back and forth for 5 bucks.
