JACKSON, Miss. – Your air travel options are being reduced, again.
Silver Airways has announced plans to discontinue flights in Mississippi to help reduce its costs.
Silver Airways begin operating in Mississippi in late 2012 when Delta Air Lines pulled out. It currently has flights to Atlanta from Hattiesburg, Greenville, Meridian and Tupleo. The company said it also is shutting down the bulk of its Atlanta operations.
The Mississippi airports are expected to lose the service in 90 days. However, the Department of Transportation could order Silver Airways to stay until the airports are able to find another carrier.
