JACKSON, Miss.- Heisman Trophy Winner and former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow will be speaking in Jackson tonight to help raise money for the CJ Stewart Foundation.
Not only is Tebow recognized for his incredible athletic ability, but he is also known for his strong Christian faith, so helping this organization is something that hits close to home for him.
The CJ Stewart Foundation was created by CJ Stewart, a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient after he was injured in Afghanistan in 2010. He died on the table and was revived after a rocket hit a wall. He went through 40 surgeries and many other trials that led him to build this foundation. He built this organization with the idea of using his story, as well as life experiences of others that have lived through traumatic experiences like his, to inspire the next generation.
“Life’s hard, it’s not easy. You’re going to have challenges no matter what they may be, but with the right attitude, character and faith you can overcome anything,” Stewart said.
This organization says they use life experiences to inspire the next generation to overcome the obstacles and challenges they face by building character and developing faith through discipleship.
Tebow’s visit will help raise money to help build CJ Stewart Foundation’s camp, Down Range. Down Range will be a facility where youth can learn, develop, and apply life skills through participation in sports and outdoor activities in Clinton. There will be many activities kids, church groups, and other organizations can enjoy such as; team building, rope courses, fishing, hunting and much more.
