JACKSON, Miss.–Here’s a heads up. You could see some rough weather over the next couple of days. Rain is possible Thursday afternoon, but really moves in Thursday night, bringing with it the potential for strong storms.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Jared Allen told News Mississippi they’re watching the Delta for Thursday night.
“There’s gonna be a limited risk of strong to severe storms,” he said. “Associated with that could be some hail the size of quarters.”
He said he does not believe high winds and tornadoes would be a risk.
But, it’s a different story for Friday.
“A second, stronger wave is gonna be moving across. It’s gonna move into Mississippi late afternoon. Some potential with that could be some large hail, potentially quarter to golf balls across central and north Mississippi, as well as some damaging wind gusts of 60 mph.”
Rain was expected to move out for Saturday, lingering south. Highs were still expected in the 70s.
