D’IBERVILLE, Miss. – Bond remains set at $2 million for a California woman accused of starting a fire that left 80 people in D’Iberville homeless.
Krystal Gonzalez, 25, made her initial appearance in justice court Friday, but waived her preliminary hearing. The next step for District Attorney’s Office is to present the case to a grand jury.
Gonzalez is charged with first degree arson. Investigators say she was trying to destroy her boyfriend’s Arbor View apartment on Fat Tuesday, but the blaze spread and destroyed 20 apartment units.
Gonzalez remains at the Harrison County jail.
