LEXINGTON, Miss. — The Lexington man that woke up inside a body bag at a funeral home has now died.
Holmes County’s coroner confirmed that Walter Williams passed away around 1 a.m. Thursday. Williams gained national attention when he was pronounced dead at his home on February 26, but woke up as funeral home workers were preparing to embalm his body. Doctors said a mix of assorted medicines may have caused him to appear not to be breathing.
Williams was a farmer and father of 11. His children say they are grateful for the additional time the Lord gave them with Williams following his near death experience.
